Welcome
to
RICK WEMPLE'S SCHOOL OF GUIDING/OUTFITTING.
If you are considering a guiding career, here are a few thoughts
... guides have a spirit for wilderness exploration, adventure,
and a respect for nature, and for big game hunting guides it
seems, a need to hunt. These traits to be outdoors are in some
people's blood more than others.
Considering myself and other guides I have known over the years;
we seem to share these common passion as outfitters and guides
helping them enjoy what we live.
It is not an easy job, but it is very rewarding. It Is fulfilling
to enjoy every day of work and be excited about where you are
and what you do. Finding satisfaction with what you do and the
ability to make a living at it is everyone's dream. But, have
no illusions, it takes dedication and hard work.

Guiding
and working with an outfitter is different than most jobs. Proper
training is necessary before handling stock, particularly in
back country areas. A Guide School is the best way to get started
on the right path to become a professional outfitter. This guide
school can and will make you qualified for a career in the outfitters
industry.
I have worked as a full time Outfitter my entire life and I
assure you that my guide school is sincere, forthright and experienced
in what we do. In addition, my job placement service is available
to all graduates. |

Learning Tradition
Outfitting
and Guiding are historical professions the world over. From
expeditions and explorers to modern day vacationers, there
have always been people capable and willing to share their
knowledge, skill, and equipment with people needing their
assistance. The Hudson's Bay Company, Lewis and Clark, John
Wesley Powell, Jedediah Smith, Sacajawea, John Muir, Jim Bridger,
the "Wagons West", and famed mountain guides were
associated with early outfitters and guides. Teddy Roosevelt,
an ardent supporter of public lands, frequently utilized outfitters
and guides to show him the country. In today's booming Outfitter/guide
industry, it is becoming increasingly important to find qualified
people to serve the public.
The guide school provides room and board, all equipment and
livestock for your training. Students only provide your personal
gear (ask for our 'What to Bring List'). This Is a 'Hands
On Guide Training Program', not just a book learning course.
Due to the limited enrollment and the demand for our guides
and outfitter graduates, I recommend that you request the
enrollment application now and return it along with your enrollment
deposit as soon as possible. Make the decision to find out
if this is the life is for you, wilderness exploration, adventure,
respect for nature, and big game hunting. Time passes quickly.
